Police Investigate Deadly Overnight Shooting
CLEVELAND — Authorities are investigating a homicide on the city’s east side Monday morning.
Cleveland police say a 56-year-old man was shot shortly after 1 a.m. in the 12700 block of Gruss Avenue.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as Tyrone Boyd.
Boyd was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition, with a gunshot to the chest. He later died from his injuries.
According to Cleveland police, a neighbor heard a gunshot, saw Boyd lying on the sidewalk, then called 911.
Officers searched for suspects after the shooting, but didn’t find anyone.
