Police: Overnight Boston violence connected to marathoner bombers

WATERTOWN, Mass. (CNN) –Massachusetts Police confirmed in a press conference at 4:20 a.m. that the two people responsible for deadly overnight violence in Cambridge and Watertown match the description of the two suspects the FBI were seeking in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings.

Two violent incidents kept Bostonians on edge over night. It started with an armed robbery at 7/11, reports CBS, which led to the shooting death of a college police officer Thursday night and ended with a carjacking that may have involved explosives early Friday.

Police believe at least one suspect used explosives against their officers in the second incident.
